i was working on a design for a townhouse/condo developemnt. It would be 2 rows of 3 facing each with a carport in front. (see 5 second paint). there would be livingspace over both the 1st floor living space and the carport.
my boss liked the design except for having to walk through the carport to get into the unit. I dont see the big deal, especially if there was a brick walkway between the cars. do people have to walk through your carport when they visit? do you think it would be odd?

The only town house I’ve ever been to, you had to walk through the garage to get to the house. It was a 2 car drive way, then two car garage, and then you walked into the kitchen. On the back side of the house there was a walkway that went around the neighborhood, to the pool, and a park, by the sidewalk was a small patio, with a door going into the dining room.
It seemed totally natural to me that you had to go through the Garage. No one on the block parked outside their Garage.
